When a loved one is seriously ill, it’s important to provide the most compassionate, attentive care
possible…not only to the patient, but to the family as well.
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is specially designed to allow close monitoring and intensive nursing care
for those who are seriously ill or injured or who suffer from complex health conditions.
At AAMC, our ICU staff will provide you and your loved one with the most personalized care available in
a warm, nurturing environment. All staff members are specially trained in critical care and are Advanced
Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certified.
Care in the ICU is provided by a team of medical professionals who use their own special expertise to
care for the patient. You may see doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, dieticians, physical therapists
and case managers all working together to provide the best possible care.
Family members also play an important role in the healing process. We encourage family members to
take part in the care and treatment of their loved one by keeping them informed and asking for
assistance when decisions need to be made.
